An exciting new connection in Appleton is now open! One of the former railroad trestles crossing the Fox River has recently been converted to a mixed-use path for pedestrians and cyclists. The trestle connects from the North island of Eagle Flats at Lawe Street to John Street where the new Eagle Point resort community is located on the north side of the river.
Two of our board members, Gwen and Angie, took a ride to check out the new trail this past weekend. Here's a view of the trestle from the north side of the river looking west-southwest:
This trestle forms part of the new Hydroelectric Heritage Trailway (HHT). Stay tuned for a more formal map. If you're looking for a new route or just a new place to check out, give it a try on your bike!
